WELCOME TO PANCH SWISS STEELBAND ASSOCIATION
The objective of our association is the enhancement of the Swiss pan community and the fostering of local and international contacts.
 
PANCH Award 2010 for Pit Zünd

altHonorary President of PANCH – and now also winner of the PANCH Award 2010. We are delighted to honour Pit Zünd for his tireless efforts as negotiator, mediator, facilitator and integrator.

He has been an enthusiastic six bass player for a long time, until ear problems forced him to stop. But he remained a true friend of the pan. He still plays the iron ad hoc when needed and can bee seen as diligent photographer on many pan events.

New Board - new Auditor

New Board
we are pleased to announce that Yvonne Zürcher and Toni Zwahlen have been elected in unison to the Board of PANCH. Yvonne will take over the treasury department. Both have been introduced in a recent PANCH info magazine and we are looking forward to a good and inspiring cooperation within the Board. We also would like to thank the former Board members that they will continue their work for PANCH: Reto will continue to take care of the pilot project at the cantonal music school in Zug (steelpan workshops at the cantonal music school) and Pit will keep up his valuable work as an editor of the PANCH info magazine, as well as the e-mailing member service. Mails to all PANCH members can therefore still be sent to pit@zuend.net.

New Auditor
Since Yvonne Zürcher changed from Auditor to Member of the Board, we are happy to announce that Lilo Lörtscher spontaneously and straightforward agreed to take on the job as a financial auditor to the association. Thanks a lot, Lilo!
Anna Schmid, former and re-elected financial auditor deserves also our special thank you very much! 
 
First PANCH Public's Choice Award

We are more than happy to award Stefanie Grob the first PANCH Public's Choice Award. She has been elected significantly ahead of other nominees as being the youngest performer at a PANCH Solo Lime. At the age of only 14 she was courageous enough to play the lead as a soloist.


Congratulations Stefanie -  we hope that your fascination for the pan will continue and we'll soon hear you on another occasion.

PANCH Public's Choice Award

The idea of creating a PANCH Public's Choice Award has been brought forward to us from different sides. It will be more of a fun price - not rivalling with the serious PANCH Award, which honours someone who has rendered outstanding service to the Swiss pan music.
All PANCH members can suggest categories and prize winners - for example for the youngest member of a Swiss steelband or for the nicest band outfit or logo, etc.
Please mail your suggestions to pit@zuend.net until november 15th. The suggestions will be published on our website and we have a tool to vote for your favourite winner.
Price giving will be on PANCH Day on January 29th 2011 (reserve the date!).

So join in and use your fantasy
