PANCH Public's Choice Award

The idea of creating a PANCH Public's Choice Award has been brought forward to us from different sides. It will be more of a fun price - not rivalling with the serious PANCH Award, which honours someone who has rendered outstanding service to the Swiss pan music.
All PANCH members can suggest categories and prize winners - for example for the youngest member of a Swiss steelband or for the nicest band outfit or logo, etc.
Please mail your suggestions to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it until november 15th. The suggestions will be published on our website and we have a tool to vote for your favourite winner.
Price giving will be on PANCH Day on January 29th 2011 (reserve the date!).

So join in and use your fantasy

Last Outdoor Lime 2010
On Sunday 5th of September Rhythmics Selection and Chester Simon & Friends played on the terrace of the Waldgarten-Muskatnuss in Volketswil. Peo Oertli's Rhythmics Selection performed with special guests on the saxophone and the accordeon. Chester entertained with well known songs to sing along - "Island...." "Deo....", etc.
All food was free and the contributions of the guests were offered to an orphan's home in Grenada.
What a great and generous idea of Bea and Chester!

Almost like being in the caribbean...

Sunshine and heavy raining by turns... only the temperatures were "a little" lower...
The spectators had to leave the terrace repeatedly and very sudden - it seemed that Peter was not so well-meaning with tha pan friends - but the steelband Pantaloni kept a stiff upper lip!

After every break - wheather with or without downpour - they managed to reestablish the good vibes within short time. They played soft melodies with beautiful solis as well as groovy calypsos - supported by their teacher David Henry.

In spite of the adverse weather conditions a great afternoon with a lot of well known faces and a good atmosphere. Thanks a lot, Pantaloni!
